TMJ / TMD - Temporomandibular Joint & Disorder Therapy

The jaw joints and muscle groups that allow us to chew, swallow, speak and yawn are known as the temporomandibular joints. When there's a problem with how these joints and muscles work, it is called TMD or temporomandibular disorder. A therapeutic appliance is often required to alleviate the subsequent pain.

Some symptoms of TMD are as follows:

  • Facial pain.
  • Tender or sore jaw muscles due to or when clenching, grinding, chewing, and/or yawning.
  • Limited opening (i.e jaw joints locking open or closed).
  • Headaches and/or neck pain.
  • Clicking or grinding noises when chewing or yawning.
  • Chipped &/or broken teeth.

If you have any of these symptoms, you should schedule a consultation to obtain a diagnosis and treatment plan.
