Our Clinic's Dental Technologies
At Uptown Dentistry, we leverage different technologies to help inform treatment planning and streamline your dental appointment. This technology enables our dentists to view the internal structure of your teeth, jawbone and soft tissues.
Since we're able to see digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can walk you through any internal oral issues you may have and easily explain your treatment plan.
Our intention is to provide patients with dental care, while also keeping them informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us fulfill that.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors rather than traditional photographic X-ray film. They produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that would be invisible to the naked eye.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions, which are an alternative to traditional dental impressions that tend to be messy and consume more time than necessary. These scanners allow your dentist to capture a digital image of your teeth in mere minutes.
Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral camera wands feed brightly lit images to a screen to allow your dentist to see the darkest parts of your mouth. Intraoral cameras provide your dentist with the ability to clearly see your teeth and gums and also allow your dentist to take before and after photos of your teeth if needed.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are often used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions and implants.
